The Story of Rook's Almost-Famous Bourbon Balls

Meet Melanie Rook Harding

I remember the Christmas season when I was young. We would make holiday bourbon balls for Christmas Eve, and I would hear the story of how my Dad enjoyed these treats at his Aunt and Uncle's house. This family recipe for bourbon balls probably dates back to the mid-50s, and over time, I’ve made some adjustments, like removing nuts and switching to ultra-fine granulated sugar to roll the balls in. This change gives them a more fudge-like texture, which I really love. I hope you all will enjoy this artisan chocolate truffles-inspired family recipe as much as I do!

Meet Ella

As the next in line for the Rook Family Christmas tradition, Ella has embraced the art of making family recipe bourbon balls using the methods and recipe her mom refined over the years. Now that she has moved into her first home, she has acquired the tools and appliances necessary to uphold the unique techniques that make these holiday bourbon balls incredibly smooth and decadent, much like her favorite artisan chocolate truffles.

A FAMILY TRADITION

No word describes these family recipe bourbon balls more than "delicious." The reviews are in! "Sweet and smooth;" "Decadent;" "Fudge-like texture with a warm finish." We hope you enjoy these holiday bourbon balls as much as we do - featuring our artisan chocolate truffles.
